Betty Amerson

Betty J. Amerson, age 78 of Newnan passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Christian City Convalescent Center. She was born on February 15, 1932 in Cleveland, Ms to the late Sheldon Fletcher, Sr. and Art Lee Griffine Fletcher. Mrs. Amerson retired as the Director of Business Affairs at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband Pete Amerson. She is survived by her children, William Collins, Allen Collins, Beverly Sewell; grandchildren, Ryan Collins, April Sewell,Jeffrey Sewell and Andrew Collins ; brothers, George Fletcher, Sheldon Fletcher, Jr. and sister, Nancy Pannell. Hello Billy, Allen, Beverly and family,  Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences...Betty, my dear friend from way back, was such a treasured friend... wonderful, caring, fun-loving, exciting, and a very smart, beautiful lady...I know you will miss her. Betty was a good friend and colleague, loyal, efficient, and kind.  I am glad that I knew her and that she was part of my life for several years.

I was sorry to hear of Betty's passing and I wish to express my condolences to you.  While I didn't know her as well as some other of her other Oglethorpe colleagues, I appreciate all she did and thought she was a sweet, caring woman of high character.  She will be missed.
