Dr. Jack Jefferson Worth, Jr. of Newnan, formerly of Atlanta, died peacefully at his home on Thursday morning, July 1st, in the company of his wife of 69 years, his children and grandchildren. He was born March 21, 1921 to Jack Jefferson Worth, Sr. and Tempie Lucille Warren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jack Jefferson Worth, III, and two sisters, Barbara Cresswell and Rosemary Daves. Dr. Worth graduated from Boys High in 1938. He graduated from The Emory University School of Medicine in 1944 and was involved with The Winship Clinic. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during WW II. His medical practice was in The W. W. Orr Medical Building on Peachtree Street in Atlanta. He was a general surgeon on staff at Crawford Long, Piedmont, Georgia Baptist, St. Joseph’s and Emory, and was on the surgical professorial staff at Emory. He also certified R. L. Mathis Dairies. He is survived by his wife, Juliette Jackson Worth; sons, Mike Worth (Judi) of Newnan, and Steve Worth (Rita) of Montgomery, AL. His grandchildren are Michelle Riede (Dean), Michael Worth (Barbara) and Martin Worth (Kellie) all of Newnan, Jeff Worth (Jack Jefferson Worth, IV) (Lena) of Austell, Julie McWilliams (Kendrick) of Alpharetta, Kimberly Craven (Bryan) of Montgomery and Alison Green (David) of Birmingham, AL and 15 great-grandchildren.
